Hello again everyone :)

Today I'll be reviewing this new Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Certainly Red (number 740) that I bought on clearance at Target. First off, the price was phenomenal! (possibly due to the fact that it was on clearance AND I received an additional 10% off work being a Target employee...) I think I got it for less than $3? Which is pretty darn good for a lipstick of this quality!

The packaging is very classic and simple: black with a gold interior. Gold=classy. I love it. It doesn't look very cheap, and that extra pop of gold makes me feel as if I were putting on Chanel lipstick :P 

The texture of this lipstick is just lovely. It is medium thick and the finish is creamy without being too 'in your face' glossy. I usually use a lip brush to apply it just for precision purposes, but during the day if I want to touch up I'll just use it straight from the tube.

It's so easy and quick to apply because the colour is so strong and bold that you really only need to use a tiny bit to get that hot red lips look! ;)Sometimes I'll even just apply a tiny bit to the centre of my lips and spread it out to create a more subtle lip stain!

This wonderful concotion in the form of a coloured stick to slap onto your lips does not bleed, is not watery or runny, and it stays put on my lips for hours of hardcore tea drinking and slurpee slurping. It's not perfect though- it does fade after a few hours, and it tends to leave a red stain. Obviously it will leave a stain because of its intense colour, and I honestly don't mind because I'm a fan of lip stains too! Anyways, the stain looks fine and will stay for hours as well :)

The colour is just phenomenal! It is definitely more of a bold, blue-based red colour, which (I think) is universally flattering. I'm a fair olive, cool-toned kitty cat and this shade works really well on my lips! I imagine it would look well on darker skin tones as well because as I said before, it is universally flattering.

 It's just one of those classic red colours that pin up girls would wear-very cute <3 It can make you look polished or casual, depending on how you dress.

Though I think this is a beautiful colour, for first time red-users, I may urge you to either steer away from this shade or use it in small doses just because it is extremely pigmented and may be a bit too bold for someone trying it for the first time. Maybe try a sheerer red? :)

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Certainly Red is an easy to use product to have on hand, and you'll definitely get your bang for your buck with it! The colour is classy and it stays put for a long time, with no bleeding or feathering. I definitely recommend this for regular lipstick users, and hardcore red lovers :P GIve it a try! :)

Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Cleansing Gel Review

So basically this product is sea foam green gel with blue micro beads in it for exfoliation. It comes in a
squeeze-out translucent tube and the scent of the gel inside is quite nice (it smells like basically every other Nivea product). I bought the Combination to Oily Skin version, which claims it can reduce oil while giving your complexion a glow-boost with a side of squeaky clean.

I've been including this face wash in my daily morning and night face routines for at least 3 weeks now and I can honestly say that it has done nothing good for my skin. The only thing that impresses me about this product is the pretty colour it is, everything else it claims to do is a flop. It doesn't lather very well, which causes me to use the product excessively, and it doesn't necessarily feel good on my skin while I'm using it.

 I find that this face wash does nothing to improve my skin texture, and should be recommended to dry skinned people, because it doesn't help reduce break outs, acne scars, or oilyness.

This face wash doesn't do a very good job in removing all my makeup; I tend to have to use my Covergirl makeup remover after to finish the job completely. As well as that, I don't feel like it cleans my face at all! My skin still feels oily afterwards :(  On the plus side, it doesn't dry out my skin!

 It doesn't really provide any sort of exfoliation either though. I feel like the blue beads are just too small and only provide a mild exfoliation, which doesn't help face my acne scars or slough off my dead skin, thus resulting in no glowing face as the bottle promises.

PROS:

• very gentle
• doesn't dry out my skin
• pretty appearance
• light aroma

CONS:

• little to no exfoliation
• doesn't mattify my skin
• doesn't leave my skin feeling fully clean
• doesn't remove all makeup
• doesn't lather 
• use results in no improvement of acne or scars

I honestly expected more from this product, but from what I've seen it do for me for the past 3 weeks, my rating for it is going to have to be this low...

Do I recommend it?

It's hard to say with skin care products, because my skin won't be the exact same as yours, so who knows! It may suit some other oily-skinned people! But from my experience with it, I don't recommend it to oily-skinned people or those who are acne-prone. Now, if you have normal skin or dry skin and you're just looking for a mild and gentle face wash, maybe this will be the one for you!

Maybelline Great Lash mascara review

I bought this mascara a couple weeks ago and I have fallen in love with it!

It is absolutely amazing and it is currently my HG mascara, which should say a lot about it because I am a huge mascara fanatic! I bought it from Wal-Mart on sale for $4.99, which is a great price for the product I received, but on the Maybelline website it is $6.40. 

The Great Lash I got was Brownish Black and waterproof (which is one of the most important qualities I hold in a mascara...can it withstand my over-emotional self?). Though I'm not too finicky about packaging, this mascara's pink and green packaging reminds me of summer and watermelons (yum!) :)

 It's cute and it doesn't leak mascara everywhere. The brush is simple but effective, which I appreciate because all those mascara brushes that are curved in every which way are just too complicated and end up just causing more clumps on my lashes.

Moving along to the actual product...I was thoroughly impressed from the get-go! Every time I apply this mascara, it goes on smoothly and rarely causes any clumps at all. It gives my lashes more "oomph" by creating more length and volume, and it even does so looking pretty natural! I'm not sure whether you can consider this cosmetic terminology, but it actually makes my lashes look soft and feathery!

The only problem that I have sometimes during the application is that the mascara sometimes gets on my eyelids or lower lashline because I blink before the mascara is dry. No worries though, I just wipe it off with a wet q-tip and voila! Problem solved! 

As for the durability aspect, this mascara is a samurai warrior. I've been wearing this mascara in 27+ celsius weather, and it has lasted the entire day with only one touch-up! It blocks sweat and oil, which both could cause those horrid raccoon eyes and black under-eye smudging (which reminds me of the girl from the Grudge...and we all should know that you do NOT want to look like the girl from the Grudge).

I haven't tried wearing this mascara in the pool so I'm not sure how it handles a lot of water or chlorine, but as far as waterproof mascaras go, this one deserves an A! It's so durable to the point where it's actually a little bit hard for me to take it off at night! Imagine that! I have to use my Covergirl makeup remover a few times before it is actually all removed...but that's how I like it because then I know it's tough enough to last through all my crazy days :)

PROS:

• simple, effective brush
• long-lasting
• cute packaging
• good lash length
• great volume
• fairly natural looking
• little to no clumps

CONS:

• during application, the mascara may get on your eyelids or lower lashline
• I haven't seen it in Black (closest it Brownish Black)

Rating:

The only reason my current favourite mascara's rating is not a 5/5 is because nothing's perfect...
